After searching some of the similar posts on the forum, I've got a few ideas on what I need to do to put right, but I was hoping for some suggestions to either confirm I was barking up the wrong tree, or had the right train of thought.

To give you a brief description of the scenario we bought a flat just shy of 18 months ago and started to get work done on it within a few months of moving in, as although it was liveable and not in an overly bad condition on the surface, it was clear that the systems and décor were very dated and that previous owners hadn’t really given it the TLC it deserved in recent years. In other words, it was our duty to restore the place, and within a fairly quick timeframe, since no one else...

We’ve recently painted all our woodwork and now it’s peeling EVERYWHERE!

We sanded and cleaned the old gloss/varnish everywhere before priming, then used Dulux Quickdry Primer & Undercoat which seemed to have good reviews, and then Satined on top. We’ve used some oil based satins and some water based (just depending on colours we wanted really) and it’s peeling off everywhere!

We’ve accepted it’s all going to need sanding/stripping off and starting again, but can anyone advise what we...

I am in the middle of renovating my new tattoo shop and I have just bought half a dozen twin panel rads. Thing is the white is not in keeping with the theme of the shop and this really does matter when it comes to aesthetics. The walls where these are going to be placed are a mix of bare brick, pallet wood panelling and black painted. I was thinking of painting the rads a dark grey, like a battleship grey, I have even been toying with the...

Just wondering if, the quality of plastering trowels makes difference in getting better results.
I have a few old plastering trowels which were cheap in the shed. When they are taken out again a few days ago, they were rusty. I did clean them up, but felt not totally smooth on the blades.

When I tried first coat of plaster on the wall, the surface was very rough. I must do 2nd coat on it, and it will not be much better I suspect. I will have to be sanding to get the flat surface....

is there such a thing as a paint that acts the same as a vcl then I can paint over the toP in white, I’m having a couple of water spots from condensation.

I'll be painting the radiator with Hammerite Satin radiator paint (unless anyone advises otherwise)

Do I need some anti rust primer first or is a light sand be ok?

The website doesn't seem to say anything about existing areas of rust.

Thanks in advance!! (and I know that replacing the radiator would be the better option, but circumstances don't allow at the moment)]]>

the first time I used it was perfect
However ever since it has spit each time I pulled the trigger and sometimes spits for a split second after I release the trigger.

It’s 100% clean as I ran warm water through it for 15 mins after each use and thoroughly cleaned all the gun and hose etc.

I’ve been told it’s letting air into the gun which is causing spitting,

It's all bare TGV and plywood, so I'm going to start with some Zinsser BIN, but the requirements for that are about 10C. My problem is that I'm at the bottom of the garden (40m+) and the second fix needs to come after the painting (so they suggested). I can only run an extension line from the house, and that's limited to 3KW. Most hire heaters are 3KW+ or say not to plug into an extension cord....

I’m looking for some advice - any help gratefully received!

I started repairing cracks on the ceiling but found that most of the paint on the ceiling flaked off. I’ve removed as much as I can (about 80% of the paint on the ceiling) but the last bits remaining are impossible to get off.

It’s an old house - the plaster is lath and plaster.

What steps does anyone recommend- I can’t get rid of the last pesky 20% and I don’t know how to move forward to prep the rest of the ceiling....
